AMERICAN COUNCIL OF THE BLIND
OF TUSCARAWAS VALLEY
BYLAWS
ARTICLE I.
Membership Dues:
A. Dues are $ 15.00 a year which shall be paid by the 15th of February.
B. When an individual pays their dues to the local ACB, they also become members in the ACB-O and the national organization.
C. If a member is delinquent in paying their dues, they will not be permitted to vote until the dues are paid.
ARTICLE II.
Expulsion of Members:
A. The expulsion of a member shall be handled by the officers and approved by the President.
ARTICLE III.
Duties of Officers:
A. The officers shall perform their duties according to Roberts Rules of Order Revised and the ACB-O.
ARTICLE IV.
Disciplinary Action of Officers:
A. Malfeasance of an officer will be handled by the remaining officers.
The membership will be informed of what resulting action was taken.
ARTICLE V.
Committees:
A. Members of the committee must be current members of the ACB of
Tuscarawas Valley but not necessarily a member of the board.
B. The chairperson of the committee shall be appointed by the president unless designated otherwise.
C. The chairperson shall choose who will serve on the committee.
The president shall have final approval.
D. Board members will not be required to serve on more than
two committees or chair more than one committee at a time.
ARTICLE VI.
Request:
A. Any person may request assistance in purchasing an Item (except for the purchase of a computer) which would assist them with their daily living needs.
B. All request must be submitted in writing.
C. Individuals can only apply for assistance one time.
D. All requests must be approved by the board.
E. The most cost effective option will be considered.
ARTICLE VII.
General Structure of Operation:
A. There will be one monthly business meeting and social activity if the weather permits.
B. When fund raising or public activities are scheduled, the membership
will be asked to participate if at all possible. Activities of this nature
must be approved by the membership.
